Job Description: The Santiago Retreat Center seeks a passionate and energetic Director of Evangelization to lead our evangelization efforts for youth, young adults, families, and individuals of all ages. This position is dedicated to designing, implementing, and overseeing dynamic programs that foster spiritual growth, character development, and a deepening relationship with Christ, in a rugged retreat environment. The Director will utilize the unique setting of our retreat center to engage participants in transformative retreats, camps, and related activities that are both challenging and faith-enriching.

Key Responsibilities:

Evangelization Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive evangelization plan that incorporates outdoor activities, faith-based learning, and community building for diverse age groups.

Program Development and Oversight: Create and oversee a range of programs for youth, young adults, families, and individuals, including camps, retreats, and leadership training, that cater to the spiritual and physical aspects of participants’ development.

Outdoor and Adventure Programming: Leverage the rugged nature of the retreat center to design programs that challenge and engage participants physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Staff and Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality, faith-centered programming.

Community and Parish Engagement: Build relationships with parishes, schools, and families to promote and support participation in evangelization programs.

Evaluation and Growth: Assess program outcomes and participant feedback to continually improve the evangelization efforts and expand outreach.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, Youth Ministry, or related field

Active, practicing Catholic with a strong foundation in Catholic theology and a passion for evangelization across all age groups

Experience in leading evangelization programs, camps, or retreats, preferably in an outdoor or rugged setting

Proven ability to design and implement effective evangelization strategies and programs

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize staff and volunteers

Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in engaging diverse age groups

Ability to handle multiple tasks, plan events, and manage a budget

First Aid/CPR certification and experience with outdoor education or adventure programming preferred

Overview: Santiago Trade School, a premier institution dedicated to the formation of men in both trades and Catholic values, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Advisor/Philosophy & Theology Teacher. This unique role combines the responsibilities of a residential advisor with the academic teaching of philosophy and theology. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the intellectual and spiritual lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Residential Advisor:
Live on campus and provide supervision and support to students.
Foster a positive and inclusive community environment.
Enforce school policies and ensure a safe living environment.
Organize and facilitate residential life activities and programs.
Offer guidance and mentorship to students in their personal and academic lives.
Philosophy & Theology Teacher:
Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous curriculum in philosophy and theology.
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into lessons.
Encourage critical thinking and dialogue among students.
Assess and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the academic community.
Qualifications:
Must be male, in accordance with the residential advisor requirements.
Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and its teachings.
Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Theology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Previous experience in teaching and/or residential life is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to live on campus for at least part of the time.
